1. Eligibility
MeetSpace is intended exclusively for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter into a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction, and not previously banned from MeetSpace, to create an account or use the platform. By using MeetSpace you represent and warrant that all of these are true.
We may, at our sole discretion, require age verification at any time and may suspend or remove any account that we reasonably believe does not meet our eligibility requirements.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the information you submit to MeetSpace and for everything that happens through your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself, including your real first name, accurate age, accurate gender identity, accurate city, and recent photos that clearly show your face;
- Promptly update your account information when it changes;
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and not share them with anyone;
- Use only one MeetSpace account, unless we have given you written permission to operate more than one;
- Notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
3. Accurate profile information
Authenticity is a foundational principle of MeetSpace. You may not impersonate any other person, misrepresent your age, gender, marital status, location, intentions, or identity, or use photos that are not genuinely of you. Use of AI-generated, materially altered, or someone else's photos in place of real photos is a material breach of these Terms.
4. User responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your conduct on MeetSpace, the content you upload, the messages you send, the meetings you arrange, and your in-person interactions with other members. You agree to use MeetSpace in compliance with all applicable laws and with our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use MeetSpace only for its intended purpose: respectful, intentional, real-world dating. You agree not to use MeetSpace for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent, and not to interfere with the service, its security, or its underlying infrastructure.
6. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to, and not to attempt to:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, bully, or harm any other user or member of our team;
- Engage in fraud of any kind, including romance scams, financial scams, blackmail, or extortion;
- Impersonate any other person, dead or alive, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- Catfish — that is, create or maintain a profile that misrepresents who you are;
- Use the platform for prostitution, escort services, trafficking, or other illegal sexual services;
- Share, request, or distribute sexual content involving minors, in any form;
- Share, request, or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery;
- Post hate speech, slurs, threats of violence, or content that incites or glorifies harm;
- Solicit money, gifts, donations, crypto, investments, or commercial services;
- Use MeetSpace to advertise, sell, recruit for, or promote any business, MLM, coaching program, OnlyFans-type service, or external platform;
- Disclose another user's personal information without their consent;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or systematically collect content or data from MeetSpace;
- Interfere with, disable, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of MeetSpace, its servers, or its users' accounts;
- Use any automated means — bot, script, crawler, scraper, or otherwise — to access or interact with the service;
- Violate any law, regulation, or third-party right in your use of MeetSpace.
7. Safety disclaimers
MeetSpace is a service that introduces people. Anything that happens after an introduction — including conversations, in-person meetings, dates, relationships, and all of their consequences — is between you and the other person, and is your sole responsibility. You agree that you will exercise common sense and reasonable caution in your dealings with other users, particularly in any in-person setting.
MeetSpace performs limited profile checks intended to support a healthier community, but we do not, and cannot, conduct full criminal background checks, full identity verification, or comprehensive screening of every member. We make no representation regarding the conduct, intentions, honesty, background, criminal history, or safety of any user.
While MeetSpace strives to identify and address policy violations, fraud, scams, harmful behaviour, and safety concerns, no moderation, review, or safety system is perfect. MeetSpace does not guarantee that all conduct, content, accounts, reports, policy violations, safety concerns, or prohibited activity will be detected, reviewed, prevented, or acted upon.
7A. Human review and AI-assisted systems
MeetSpace may use a combination of human review and AI-assisted systems to help operate, moderate, and protect the platform. These systems may assist with reviewing profiles, detecting fraud and scams, identifying policy violations, processing reports, supporting customer service, improving safety, and protecting the integrity of the Service.
You acknowledge and agree that (a) not every action, message, profile, or report is reviewed by a human; (b) AI-assisted systems do not make every decision, and their use does not guarantee detection, accuracy, or safety; and (c) MeetSpace may take action — including warnings, suspension, removal of content, or termination of accounts — based on information generated through automated systems, human review, or a combination of both.
8. No guarantees
MeetSpace is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Without limiting the foregoing, you acknowledge and agree that MeetSpace does not guarantee:
- That the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at any specific time;
- That you will receive any specific number of introductions, matches, conversations, or replies;
- That any introduction, match, conversation, date, friendship, or relationship will occur, succeed, continue, or produce any particular outcome;
- The identity, age, gender, honesty, character, behaviour, intentions, background, marital status, or safety of any other user;
- The accuracy of any information any user provides about themselves or others.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MeetSpace, its founders, officers, employees, contractors, suppliers, and affiliates (the "MeetSpace Parties") shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages — including, without limitation, loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, personal injury, emotional distress, or any damages arising from:
- Your access to, use of, or inability to use the service;
- The conduct of any other user, including harassment, stalking, defamation, assault, fraud, scams, or abuse, whether online or in person;
- Any in-person meeting, date, or interaction that arises out of or relates to your use of MeetSpace;
- Any content uploaded, shared, or transmitted through the service by any user;
- Unauthorized access to or use of our servers, your account, or any personal information stored therein;
- Any bugs, viruses, trojans, or other malicious code transmitted through the service by any third party.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of the MeetSpace Parties to you for any and all claims arising from or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you have paid to MeetSpace in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).
Some jurisdictions, including parts of Canada, do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the MeetSpace Parties from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to (a) your access to or use of MeetSpace, (b) your violation of these Terms or our Community Guidelines, (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any right of privacy, publicity, or intellectual property, (d) any content you submit or transmit through MeetSpace, or (e) any in-person interaction between you and any other user.
11. Account suspension and termination
We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to MeetSpace, remove any content, and refuse to provide future services if we believe — based on the information available to us — that you have violated these Terms, our Community Guidelines, applicable law, or our safety policies, or that your conduct poses a risk to other users or to MeetSpace.
You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@joinmeetspace.com. The sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including, without limitation, sections 8 through 14 — will continue in effect after termination.
12. Intellectual property
MeetSpace, including the MeetSpace name, logo, design, software, copy, and underlying technology, is and remains the property of MeetSpace and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on any part of the service except as expressly permitted by us in writing.
You retain ownership of the content you submit to MeetSpace, including your photos and profile text. By submitting that content, you grant MeetSpace a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes such as resizing), and display that content for the limited purpose of operating, providing, and improving the service.
13. Changes to the service or these Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue MeetSpace, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or by email, and where required by applicable law we will ask you to re-accept the updated Terms before continuing to use MeetSpace. Continued use of the service after a material update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflicts of law principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of MeetSpace will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and MeetSpace regarding the service and supersede all prior agreements. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
