The MeetSpace spirit
MeetSpace is not a hookup platform, not a numbers game, and not a place for casual cruelty. It is a small, curated community of adults who are serious about meeting real people in real life. Three principles guide everything we do here:
- Safety first. Every person on this platform deserves to feel safe.
- Authenticity first. Show up as the real you, every time.
- Meeting first. We exist so that thoughtful, real-world meetings happen.
Respect everyone
Treat every member the way you would want a friend, sibling, or neighbour to be treated. Disagreement is fine. Saying no is fine. Rudeness, condescension, name-calling, and contempt are not. A good test: would you say this to the person sitting across from you at a café?
Be honest, be authentic
- Use your real first name.
- Use recent, unedited photos that clearly show your face.
- Describe yourself, your age, your gender, your city, and your intentions truthfully.
- Do not impersonate anyone else, ever.
- Do not use AI-generated or heavily filtered photos in place of real ones.
Catfishing — pretending to be someone you are not — is one of the few things that results in an immediate, permanent ban.
No harassment, stalking, or threats
Repeated, unwanted contact is harassment. So is following someone across platforms, trying to find their personal accounts, sending sexual content without consent, pressuring someone into a meeting, or contacting them after they have asked you to stop. Threats of any kind — including implied threats — are taken extremely seriously and reported to the appropriate authorities where required.
No hate speech or discrimination
Content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, immigration status, or any other identity has no place on MeetSpace. Neither do hateful symbols, slurs, or "preferences" written in a way that targets a group.
No sexual content involving minors
MeetSpace is an 18+ platform. Any sexual content involving minors — including images, text, or roleplay — results in an immediate permanent ban and is reported to the relevant law enforcement and child protection authorities, in line with Canadian law.
No scams, solicitation, or commercial use
- No romance scams or financial schemes of any kind.
- No requests for money, gift cards, crypto, or "investment" opportunities.
- No multi-level marketing, recruiting, coaching pitches, or business solicitation.
- No adult services or escort solicitation.
- No selling products, services, OnlyFans, or external content.
Accounts that use MeetSpace for any of the above are removed without warning.
No illegal activity
Anything that is illegal under Canadian federal law or under the laws of British Columbia is not permitted on MeetSpace. This includes — without limitation — trafficking, drug supply, weapons offers, hate-motivated offences, blackmail, and the non-consensual sharing of intimate imagery.
Respect boundaries
"No" is a complete answer. If someone declines, slows the pace down, asks you not to bring something up, or stops replying — respect it. Do not message them from another account. Do not insult them. Do not try to find them outside the platform.
Safe dating expectations
For first meetings, we expect every member to:
- Meet in a public, well-trafficked location.
- Arrange your own transportation.
- Let someone you trust know where you'll be.
- Be honest about your intentions.
- Treat the other person with dignity, regardless of whether you want to see them again.
Pressuring someone to meet in a private space before they're ready, refusing to meet in public, or being deliberately misleading about plans is a reportable offence.
Respect privacy
- Do not share other members' profiles, photos, or messages publicly.
- Do not share anyone's address, workplace, or contact details outside MeetSpace without their consent.
- Do not screenshot conversations to mock or shame other members.
Reporting concerns
If something feels wrong, report it. Every profile and chat has a report button, and you can also email safety@joinmeetspace.com directly. Reports may be reviewed by a combination of human moderators and AI-assisted systems. We strive to review reports as quickly as reasonably possible and prioritize urgent safety concerns, but we cannot guarantee review times, review outcomes, or enforcement outcomes. Reports are confidential and the reported member is never told who submitted the report.
How we moderate
MeetSpace may use a combination of human review and AI-assisted systems to help review profiles, detect fraud, identify policy violations, process reports, improve safety, support customer service, and protect the integrity of the platform. Not every action or message is reviewed by a human, and AI-assisted systems do not make every decision. MeetSpace may take action — including warnings, suspension, or removal — based on information generated through automated systems, human review, or a combination of both.
While we strive to identify and address policy violations, fraud, scams, harmful behaviour, and safety concerns, no moderation, review, or safety system is perfect. MeetSpace does not guarantee that all conduct, content, accounts, reports, policy violations, safety concerns, or prohibited activity will be detected, reviewed, prevented, or acted upon.
Enforcement
We use a proportionate, transparent enforcement ladder. Most issues are handled with a warning and a chance to learn. Serious or repeated violations result in suspension or a permanent ban without refund.
- Warning. First-time, minor or borderline conduct. We tell you what we saw and what we expect.
- Temporary suspension. Repeat warnings, harassment, or dishonest profile content. Account access is paused while we review.
- Permanent ban. Severe violations — including catfishing, sexual content involving minors, threats, doxxing, scams, illegal activity, or repeated harassment after warnings. Permanent bans are final and we will not create a new account for a banned user.
We reserve the right to escalate directly to a permanent ban — without prior warning — when conduct is severe enough to warrant it.
Appeals
If you believe an enforcement decision was made in error, you may appeal once by emailing safety@joinmeetspace.com within 14 days. Appeals are reviewed by someone other than the original moderator.
A note from MeetSpace
These guidelines exist so that every member can show up here with confidence. Thank you for reading them, taking them seriously, and helping us build a community worth being part of.
